Fortitude Re names Carla Albertze as SVP, Head of Internal Audit

Global multi-line reinsurer Fortitude Re has appointed Carla Albertze as Senior Vice President (SVP), Head of Internal Audit.

In her new role, Albertze will lead the firm’s Internal Audit Team to ensure the strength, effectiveness and efficiency of the company’s internal controls, risk management processes, and governance procedures.

Richard Patching, Board of Directors, Audit Committee Chairperson, Fortitude Re, commented, “Throughout Carla’s career, she has demonstrated a deep understanding of regulatory requirements, industry best practices and emerging risks, which has positioned her as a trusted leader in industry.

“Her expertise, coupled with her proven track record of driving efficiency, transparency and accountability will be instrumental to Fortitude Re’s continued success.”

Fortitude Re stated that Albertze brings a wealth of experience to the role. Most recently, she served as the Vice President, Internal Audit, responsible for audits in several areas including Deal Pricing, Model Risk Management, System Implementations, Data Migrations, Enterprise Risk Management, and more.

Albertze joined Fortitude Re from KPMG, where she focused on performing external audits of SEC registrants, and spent many years working with clients in the reinsurance industry.

This appointment follows the recent naming of Jamie Schmerer as SVP, Enterprise Risk to lead the firm’s regulatory relations efforts in Bermuda and oversee its enterprise risk management framework.
