Howden, a global insurance intermediary group, has appointed four new hires to its aviation division, including former Gallagher Partner Matthew Giddings, and hull war expert Mike Hart.

As part of the Howden Aviation team, Hart is going to leverage his extensive knowledge and decades of industry experience to support the continued growth of the company’s airline and hull war client base.

An aerospace broker with nearly 20 years of experience in programme design and management of aerospace clients, Giddings is joining Howden as Divisional Director, effective September 2024.

Prior to Howden, he spent five years at Gallagher, where he served as an Associate for two years and later as a Partner for three years. Before that he served as a Placing Broker at Jardine Lloyd Thompson for 13 years.

Also joining Howden’s aviation division in September is Dane Bird. He has been appointed Senior Account Handler/Broker, and brings specialist aerospace capabilities, including managing client relationships and maintaining strong market partnerships to the role.
