DWF, a provider of integrated legal and business services, has announced its acquisition agreement with Proclaim, a claims management business in Australia, aiming to enhance its presence in the country.

Group CEO, Sir Nigel Knowles, commented: “This acquisition will mark a significant step forward in our growth strategy, reinforcing our commitment to expanding our footprint in key global markets.”

“Proclaim’s outstanding reputation and expertise align perfectly with our vision and should everything progress as planned, we look forward to welcoming them in the near future.”

The agreement represents a substantial expansion of DWF’s Claims Management and Adjusting (CMA) capabilities in Australia, enhancing its position in one of the world’s top Lloyd’s markets, following the US, UK, and Canada.

Founded in 1999 by Jon Broome, who remains its Managing Director, Proclaim operates primarily from Melbourne with an additional office in Sydney.

Employing a team of 60 professionals, Proclaim is highly regarded as Australia’s leading claims management firm for the London market, recognised for its innovation, client satisfaction, and industry leadership.

Upon completion, this transaction will integrate Proclaim into DWF’s global CMA operations, increasing its CMA team to 320 members across nine jurisdictions.

With significant client synergies and opportunities to cultivate relationships among Proclaim’s corporate clients, DWF anticipates further investment in expanding its insurance-focused legal teams in Sydney, Melbourne, and other strategic locations. The transaction is due to complete in 4-6 weeks, with subject to regulatory approvals.

Jon Broome, founder of Proclaim, said: “We are very proud of the business we have built over 25 years and the market leadership position we have reached in insurance claims management.

“We are excited for the next phase of our development in partnering with a global leader in claims and legal services and what that can offer for existing and prospective clients,” further added Broome.
